Getting around on Yolobus is now easier by bike! All our buses have bike racks that can accomodate up to three bikes at a time. There is no extra charge or special permit required to use the bike racks.

Bike racks are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Bikes are not allowed inside the buses at any time. Only one bike allowed per passenger. Bikes cannot be more than 80 inches long and must be less than 48 inches high. Bikes must weigh less than 55 pounds. Motorized bikes are not allowed in and/or on Yolobus vehicles. Bikes must be clean and free of sharp objects. Bikes may not be locked to the rack, and Yolobus is not responsible for bikes that are stolen, left on racks or damaged.

Cyclists are responsible for loading and unloading their own bikes. If you require assistance, the driver may be able to help you if it is safe to do so. Tandem, motorized, and three-wheeled bikes are not allowed on the bike racks. Remove any loose items, such as bike locks, water bottles, air pumps, child seats, and bags, from your bike before loading. Do not lock your bike onto the bike rack. Cyclists are recommended to sit near the front of the bus to keep an eye on the bike. If the bike rack is full, you will have to wait for the next bus. Yolobus is not responsible for damaged, stolen, or lost bikes. If you left your bike on the bike rack, please call Lost & Found at 530-666-BUSS (2877).

There are two different types of bike racks: Front-mounted racks and Luggage bay racks

Loading Instructions for Front-Mounted Bike Racks

As your bus approaches your bus stop, have your bike ready to load and notify the driver that you will be loading your bike. Always load your bike from the curb side. Remember, instructions are also posted on the bike rack itself.

01

If the bike rack is in the upright position, squeeze the handle, then lower the rack.

02

Lift up the bike and fit the wheels into the slots. Wheel slots are labeled for the front and rear wheels. If there are no other bikes on the rack, please use the slot that is closest to the bus.

03

Pull and raise the support arm over the front tire. Make sure the hook fits over the tire, resting the hook next to the brakes. Once the bike is secure, board the bus and pay your fare.

Unloading Instructions for Front-Mounted Bike Racks

As you exit the front doors of the bus, notify the bus driver that you will be unloading your bike. Always unload from the curb side.

01

Raise the hook from your tire and lower the support arm to its original position.

Lift your bike out of the rack and place it on the curb side of the bus.
