Transit Connect

The New Fare Payment App

Yolobus is making it easier than ever to pay your fare with the launch of a new mobile fare payment app! The new app, called Transit Connect, is part of our commitment to improving the rider experience. The new payment platform will be rolled out in multiple phases to provide a smooth transition for riders.

Phase 1 Launch – Feb 2026

Riders can download Transit Connect and purchase tickets or passes directly from their smartphone (regular and discount fares available, along with monthly passes and SacRT/Yolobus passes). Simply show your activated ticket to a bus operator just like with the current ZipPass app, which will be phased out by April 30, 2026.

Key features include:

  • Mobile fare purchase and storage – using credit/debit cards.
  • Visual fare validation – show your activated ticket to the operator (similar to ZipPass).
  • Account protection – Easily restore tickets if you switch or lose your phone.
  • Full fare, discount fare, and transfers are all available in the Transit Connect app.

Phase 2 will launch in summer 2026, with even more options:

  • Contactless fare payment integration – Riders will be able to validate fares electronically on buses.
  • More payment options – Tap your credit card to pay your fare directly or use Apple Pay or Google Pay if you choose, in addition to Transit Connect or cash options.

How to Get a Discount Fare in Transit Connect

Everyone can purchase full fare tickets, but if you qualify for a discount fare (senior 62+ or a person with a disability), follow the simple steps below to access reduced pricing.

Transit Connect is more than a new app—it’s a smarter, simpler way to ride. Whether you’re a daily commuter or an occasional rider, this new system is designed to work for you.
